DofE is open to any young person aged 14-24. Each young person builds their own DofE programmes – picking their own activities and choosing which cause to volunteer for – in order to achieve a Bronze, Silver or Gold DofE Award. The DofE is run in schools, youth clubs, hospitals, fostering agencies, prisons, sports clubs and more, all over the UK and internationally.
We have specific programmes and funding opportunities available for young people with lived experience of the justice system. This includes those in prisons, serving sentences in the community and those at risk of offending. We deliver and work with organisations including HMPPS, prisons, secure establishments, Youth Justice Services and other charities that reach young people at risk or in the justice system.

Doing What Really Matters (DWRM) works with universities to offer a much wider range of degree courses than are currently available to students in prison. We focus on the provision of study materials, tuition and greater participation in a learning community so as to properly engage students.

As there is currently very limited support for prisoners on release, this tends to mean students are unable to complete their course or sit the required exams. We bridge that gap by providing post release support to enable students to attend university campus to complete their degree. We also provide specialist employability support and mentoring to people leaving prison.

East West Organization offers a unique choice of holistic interventions for the prevention, treatment and recovery from addictions and attachments. The charity also provide a range of educational and preventative services for children and adults including mindfulness meditation to deal with relapsing conditions, such as stress, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, pain and depression which can often lead to alcohol, illicit drug and medication dependency.

Support Network for user's and ex user's who are contemplating or have completed treatment at Thamkrabok Monastery in Thailand. We also provide preventative drug & alcohol education for adults and children.

EDAS Foundation is a registered charity based in the North West of Birmingham. We provide a range of services across Birmingham specialising in social welfare, advice and advocacy, informal education and training, and the advancement of local communities. Our mentoring services focus on intervention to offenders in and out of prison and enable offenders to break the cycle of offending using volunteer mentors. Our volunteer mentors offer one-to-one support for adults being released from prison, on licence or on sentences served in the community. Volunteer mentors can help with attending appointments, applying for jobs, finding alternative accommodation, filling in forms and providing some emotional support. Our peer mentors and volunteers provide positive role models and active support for others just starting out in their road to recovery, helping individuals to consider their options and supporting them to achieve their goals. We work with clients who are involved with the criminal justice system and have issues with offending behaviour as well as substance misuse and many of the contributory factors that can be related.

Elevating Success UK is a training and personal development company based in South London with a reach that extends across the capital. Established in November 2007, the organisation has charitable status and works with approximately 1400 individuals per year, consisting of children, young people and adults.

Our aim is to support individuals to achieve their full potential. Today we have six delivery areas: Employability Skills, Rehabilitating Offenders, Personal Development, Holiday Programmes, Community Development and Event Management.

Our training is free at the point of access with funding sources from a variety of organisations including local and central government, larger charities and a number of social housing providers who see the benefit of empowering their tenants to become economically independent.

Elmore Community Services aims to work with people with complex needs (including mental health) who do not easily fit into existing service provisions or who need support to access service provisions in their local community. We aim to identify gaps and barriers in current provision and create and implement models of working that address these issues. We work directly with people on the margins of society and aim to enable such individuals to have equal access to the basic rights of society.

Emerging Futures' criminal justice housing teams provide housing and recovery support to people who have come into contact with the criminal justice system.

We offer these individuals the support to help them take their first steps towards making positive changes in their lives, of which safe supportive accommodation is an essential ingredient. Our staff and Coaches have lived experience of the criminal justice system, homelessness, substance misuse and mental health problems and use this advanced empathy to engage with clients and build an ongoing trusting relationship to effect change.

Across the country Emerging Futures also provides Transitional
Recovery Housing, Move on accommodation, Recovery Housing, and Recovery, Family & Community Coaching.

Emmaus Leeds is a charity that supports homeless people by providing accommodation, support and training opportunities. We also have a social enterprise with a large furniture store and a market stall. All the Companions volunteer within the social enterprise for 40 hours a week, in all different areas of the business.
All companions receive regular support sessions and training opportunities.

Emmaus supports formerly homeless people by giving them a home, meaningful work in a social enterprise and an opportunity to get back on their feet again. For many who experience homelessness, one of the biggest obstacles they must overcome is a loss of self-esteem. Emmaus provides people with a stable home and the opportunity to regain their self-worth, making a real contribution to their community. We rely on donations from the public of good-quality furniture and household goods, which are then sold in Emmaus shops.

Empower, education and personal development of the global African- Caribbean community from Cradle to Grave. Services fall into four main categories: Thriving Angels - focused on mental well being and creativity. Empathy Souls - various projects connected with women and children that have been impacted by the criminal justice system. Young Pioneers - 0-11 early intervention and activities to promote healthy cohesion with the use of music and dance. Guardian Angels- concentrating on the youth justice aspect of the community addressing what works and what needs development to engage the community and improve the outcomes for the youths.
Empathy Souls priority is outreach so collectively and with collaboration with partners can provide authentic cultural translation for the African-Caribbean Community aligning their strengths so they can for full their purpose.

Employment4ALL is devoted to combating the social exclusion ex offender job seekers face trying to gain employment. It was founded to provide employment opportunities with revolutionary and forward thinking employers with hiring practices, for all those with experience of disadvantage to gain employment, independence, inclusion and control over their lives. This includes, but is not limited to, those with experience of the Criminal Justice System, poverty, Homelessness, Physical or Learning Disability, Identify as BAME/BIPOC, Care Leavers,Lone Parents, Ex Armed Forces, Domestic Violence Survivors. The impact of Covid-19 has widened inequalities amongst disadvantaged people and created a massive increase in unemployment. We adopt an holistic approach and will also work with jobseekers to assist with the wrap around support that we know works and is require, for example, confidence building and wellbeing support, peer group mentoring and support, specialist employment events.

English PEN believes in safeguarding the freedom to read and write. Its Readers and Writers programme brings writers and books into closed and neglected communities in particular prisons. We work in partnership with education, libraries and writers in residence.

We offer a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Surveying to anyone who has a basic competency in Maths and English. We also offer other add-on courses

EnjoyRunning is a new CIC set up to provide a framework for a feasibility study and eventual community programme using running as a part of rehabilitation plans for offenders, particularly those with addiction or mental health needs.
I am a former social worker, social work lecturer and researcher, currently working as a post-doctoral research fellow in Crime Science at UCL. I am also a running coach with experience running generic community running groups.
The prisons and regions ticked are the scope of the planned programme, and I am looking to build partnerships with key agencies to develop this project further, while conducting a systematic review of research to test the proof-of-concept for the programme

Enterprise Inspiration works with individuals who have criminal records and who want to set up their own businesses/ be self employed/ social enterprise. We work in prison and community settings. We work with all kinds of offenders (male and female and including sex offenders). We are real business people who are skilled teachers/ trainers and have been working with offenders for over 5 years. We specialise in detailed advice on business financial aspects (e.g. tax, insurance, getting loans, legal compliance) as well as real business planning including personal capabilities needed, customers, disclosure and licences and business routines. We provide flexible services including group training, 1-2-1 business coaching and mentoring, financial and insurance advice. 1-2-1s can be face to face and phone based. We deal directly with issues people have with HMRC. We prefer working in partnership including seeking joint funding especially with those who take a holistic approach.
