Empowerment Charity Lancashire works alongside people facing marginalisation, disadvantage, and complex life challenges, ensuring that their lived experiences directly shape the support they receive. The organisation provides advocacy services designed to help individuals—particularly those who feel unheard—express their needs and access appropriate services that improve their quality of life. Many of the people they support are dealing with overlapping difficulties such as domestic abuse, health and social care issues, and social isolation, creating layers of disadvantage that require compassionate, tailored intervention.

A major aspect of Empowerment’s work centres on supporting survivors of domestic abuse, including children and young people. Through consultations, educational programmes, and youth‑led engagement, the charity ensures that the real‑world experiences of those affected guide service development and campaigning efforts. This lived‑experience‑driven approach plays a crucial role in shaping local responses to issues such as sexual harassment, harmful attitudes, and violence against women and girls, with hundreds of young people contributing their voices to drive meaningful change.

Across its diverse services, Empowerment supports around 380 people weekly, consistently prioritising individuals who experience multiple layers of vulnerability and social disadvantage, and helping them work toward safer, more empowered futures.
