V-Aid is a registered charity supporting people in contact with the criminal justice system, including veterans, prison leavers, probation clients and other vulnerable members of the community. Through our Food & Futures programme, we provide volunteering, skills development, mentoring, training and practical work experience.

Working alongside probation services, local authorities and frontline charities, we help people rebuild confidence, develop practical skills and gain experience through meaningful activities, including the production and distribution of emergency food parcels and humanitarian aid. Participants are supported to develop responsibility, teamwork and employability while making a positive contribution to their communities.

Alongside this, we work with a range of local partners to provide emergency food, clothing and essential items to people experiencing hardship, homelessness and crisis. We also deliver humanitarian aid projects internationally, giving participants opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects while building skills, confidence and pathways towards volunteering, education and employment.

Valley Veterans provides support to vulnerable ex-Armed Forces members across the South Wales Valleys. We have developed stables and provide equine therapy with a horticultural area, as outside, positive, meaningful work is proven to benefit mental and physical health in a supporting environment with like-minded individuals and combats loneliness in those living alone with no family support. The site is accessible on a daily basis for members and will be expanded to include the local community. We host a weekly Breakfast Club each Thursday morning where professional assistance from the local Council and veterans agencies is available. We assist with housing, transporting our most vulnerable members to hospital or clinic appointments and collecting prescriptions. We provide a Prison Liaison Service for ex-Forces members on remand at Parc Prison, Bridgend and work closely with South Wales Police to assist those held in custody.

We provide support to ex offenders and their families, also in partnership with others building a network of churches across Wales working with those affected by prison. Also providing and supporting self help groups to become economically active. Working with local churches we provide spiritual support and find local churches for people to attend. Aims
The aims of the Hub were very similar to those of the VCP, namely:
•To provide a safe environment with a person centred, single point of focus for Armed Forces personnel, Service Leavers, Veterans and their families, all providing, timely, on-going, comprehensive and appropriate support/signposting through diverse and trusted providers
•Delivering an innovative wrap around service to veterans, identifying the various individual needs to find help to find work or training: – physical disability, poor mental health, problematic substance or alcohol abuse, homelessness, debt, ex offender and relationship breakdown.
•The model is both enabling and supportive, perceiving the wounded, injured and sick part of the veteran and service leaver’s community as an asset.

The Hub offers
Rapid access to:
•Bespoke employment and training information and advice
•Bespoke personalised support, mentoring and coaching
•Access to RBL Case Officer Service
•Access to RBL advice and information surgeries
•Access to RBL specialist services – Outreach officer service, War pensions & Armed Forces Compensation scheme (AFCS) advisor service – support with appeals.
•Access to SSAFA & RBL Home visiting casework service, for currently serving, those who have served their families and dependant
•Links and positive relationships with many other organisations, including NHS services, accommodation providers and employment courses
•Similarly, a close working relationship has grown with Help for Heroes (H4H). Seen as a partner organisation, the Hub is utilised as an outreach office to engage wounded, injured and sick (WIS) veterans, linking with the Recovery Centre, Endeavour House, HMS Drake, Plymouth and their Band of Brothers/Sisters projects

For 40 years Victim Support has provided victims and witnesses with practical help and emotional support they need, giving free and confidential help to over half a million victims a year across England and Wales. We assess who needs support and use our trained staff and volunteers to help people cope and recover. We also run a national supportline, national homicide service, help people at court through our Witness Service and campaign to get a better deal for people affected by crime. Our local work ensures we remain highly responsive to the needs of local victims and is backed up by the strength and safeguards of a national organisation. We also run specialist services for particular types of crime with money we raise through fundraising, local grants or contracts. This includes bespoke local services for victims of domestic violence, hate crime and antisocial behaviour as well as young victims and witnesses and people who want to take part in restorative justice.

For thirty years we have provided specialist Housing Support for men and women on release from HMP. We also support people with substance misuse issues from a holistic approach to recovery and re-offending reduction. A brief overview of our work includes, Health and Fitness, Education and work experience and training.

I teach self-esteem and confidence to children, young people, and women, in schools, groups, organisations, and one to one.

Viewpoint is a service user involvement charity working to improve mental health, drug and alcohol provision in Hertfordshire. We enable and support our members to get involved at every level to ensure they have a say in the way services are designed and delivered. Viewpoint also facilitates various training courses across all sectors; all of our expert trainers access services.

Vita Nova is an arts organisation specializing in working with people who have drug and alcohol issues and those accessing mental health services. Supporting people through the provision of creative writing, theatre, music and other forms of creative expression. Offering friendship and support, volunteers are also able to become involved in the delivery of preventative education and workshops.

We deliver a range of projects for the communities of Calderdale. We have specific expertise in mentoring and befriending support for offenders and adults with additional support needs. Alongside this we have a wealth of experience of volunteer co-ordination and management of other volunteering programmes. We provide safeguarding support and training from our own premises in Halifax.

Voluntary Action Leeds is an infrastructure organisation that supports third sector services across Leeds. Giving Time sits within the Volunteer Centre department. We deliver Volunteer Centre services within the prison establishment and offer through the gate support. Giving Time has a successful track record for placing people with criminal convictions in a range of volunteering opportunities.

Giving Time is currently offering the opportunity for replication in other areas via a social franchising model.

VAR offers support services to local groups and disadvantaged people, as well as volunteering opportunities. The Volunteer Centre is a hub of information where a number of other voluntary organisations also have office accommodation; numerous facilities are available to hire, including rooms.

We run four Volunteer Centres and a network of Community Volunteer Co-ordinators, recruiting and deploying thousands of volunteers of all ages each year. We deliver frontline projects including befriending, training programmes, tackling worklessness, capacity building for personalisation and neighbourhood development.

As a Council for Voluntary Service and we support volunteers and voluntary organisations we help voluntary and community groups to build their capacity and sustainability through face to face and telephone support.

We also provide an effective voice for voluntary sector concerns in our engagement with local strategic bodies in the public sector.

Through our trading arm, Charity BackRoom, we offer a range of back-office services including HR and employment law support, DBS checks, accountancy, payroll and insurance brokerage for local groups.

The Volunteer Centre is part of a national network of centres that help voluntary and community organisations recruit and manage their volunteers, and it helps people interested in volunteering to find interesting and enjoyable opportunities. We recruit volunteers for charitable organisations and events, working with Dorset County Council, NHS, probation and many other organisations. We also work with people with learning disabilities.

The InsideOut Resettlement Scheme supports serving and ex-offenders to access volunteering opportunities, training, apprenticeships and sustainable employment. Working in partnership with prisons including HMP Brixton, HMP Wormwood Scrubs, and agencies including Job Centre Plus, we offer advice and support to enable serving and ex-offenders to make a positive transition on release from custody via placements in the voluntary and community sector, and on into employment. We support first time and repeat offenders with a wide range of offences from the relatively minor to those of a serious nature. We do not work with anybody convicted of a sex or arson offence. We have access to a diverse range of developmental opportunities in areas including administration, advice, catering, DIY, driving, education, marketing, retail, sports and training. We also provide tailored support to address issues that may impact successful resettlement including welfare, substance abuse, debt, and disability.

We support individuals who would like to look at the option of volunteering in local community and voluntary groups. We offer a free guidance session to help explore any barriers or signpost to relevant support services. We also engage with groups that wish to recruit volunteers.

Volunteer Centre Swindon's primary function is to match individuals and groups interested in volunteering with appropriate opportunities in the local community. For volunteers we provide: one-to-one advice and guidance at our drop-in centre, referral to an appropriate organisation, support and encouragement, followup and monitoring, and easy access to a variety of volunteering opportunities. For organisations we provide: the promotion of volunteering as an enjoyable activity which benefits both the volunteer and the community, the advertisement of specific opportunities on behalf of local groups, active recruitment of potential volunteers for local groups, development of good practice in all aspects of working with volunteers, organisation of a regular Volunteer Co-ordinators' Forum, and updates on any policy issues that may affect the organisation or its volunteers.

We can help people from the following groups who live or work in Tower Hamlets to find volunteering opportunities with one of over 450 local community organisations within the borough. We do this by offering 1-1 appointments for the person to talk about their aspirations and match them to a suitable volunteering opportunity. We help with application forms and interviews and then provide ongoing support once they have started volunteering.

The people/ groups we support are as follows:
- with a history of offending
- who are long-term unemployed (over 1 year)
- with mental health problems
- with chronic health conditions or physical disabilities
- with learning disabilities
- ESOL learners or new migrants (especially those recently arrived in the UK)
- who are or have been recently homeless
- recovering from drug or alcohol addiction
- escaping domestic violence

We are an arts and community organisation working within criminal justice, to spark fresh conversations and insights so that our responses to crime, harm and conflict might build or rebuild connections, trust and belonging rather than further divisions.

Established in 2013, we run creative projects in prison and in the wider community with people who have committed crimes, people who have been victims of crime, those who have family experience of crime and justice processes and those who work in this area.

Underpinning all the above, we are building a messy creative community made up of many of the diverse people involved. And we are learning a lot together in the process!

Wai Yin has been providing service to the Chinese community in the North West since 1988; however, our service covers both Chinese and other communities. We set out to tackle the challenges from culture and language differences and help ethnic minority communities to settle better into British society.
