Laces is a programme which offers educational and practical support to all ages. It was established in 1994 by Charles Young, who has spoken to thousands of people on the subject of crime and its consequences and how a life of crime can affect individuals, their family and friends, and the victims. Charles' message is clear and simple "Don't Follow a criminal path as I did".

Lancashire Women’s Centres is a leading charity for women and girls in Lancashire with over 4000 women accessing their services over the past year and 130 active volunteers. Their vision is where all women and girls in Lancashire are valued and treated as equals. Lancashire Women’s Centres empower women and girls to be able to transform their lives by bringing them together to: find their voice, share experiences and understanding, develop their knowledge and skills and challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about them… so that they can have choices in becoming the individuals they want to be.

We have specific provision to address the needs of women in the criminal justice system. We offer an evidence based mental health service and in house interventions across all pathways to offending. We deliver a complete pathway from crisis into education, employment and training.

Landau is a supported employment and work-related training organisation that aims to provide people with learning disabilities or long-term health issues, the long-term unemployed and young people, with the skills and support they need to find sustainable employment.

LandWorks offers a full-time, comprehensive service with integrated support across a broad range of issues at one location. We replicate a real working environment where accomplishment and achievement is valued. LandWorks also offers a safe place to be vulnerable, a place to build trusting individual relationships, and above all, a chance to develop a non-criminal identity. Our excellent statistics speak for themselves but we view real success as former trainees getting married, starting a family, and generally leading settled, contributing lives in their communities.

Since 2013, LandWorks has supported over 100 people serving community sentences and on day release from prison. We are proud to have maintained an employment rate of over 90% for our graduates, and a reoffending rate of less than 6%. LandWorks now employs two of its own ‘graduates’.

Langley House Trust works with ex-offenders, and those at risk of offending, to establish positive foundations so that they can lead crime-free lives and become contributors to society. We have a 3% reconviction rate nationally. We achieve this through accommodation-based support, comprehensive rehabilitation and personal development programmes, education and vocational training, move-on support and in-prison visiting. We are a Christian charity, working with people of any faith or no faith.

Latch is a unique charitable organisation that refurbishes derelict and run-down houses in the Chapeltown, Harehills and Burley areas of Leeds.

When they’re fully modernised and furnished, our properties provide supported housing for people who are homeless or in housing need and are ready to make a positive change in their lives.

Unemployed volunteers work on the refurbishments alongside Latch staff, gaining skills, confidence and work experience.

We were created in 1987 to work through music and drama to help young unemployed people to understand the conflicts in their lives and give them the tools and confidence to make better choices when confronting conflict.

Our vision is a society where conflict is navigated effectively. Here, we investigate what conflict means for different people and how conflict shows up in our lives.

Learn to Re-create is a start-up social enterprise that offers fashion and textile crafts training as part of a vocational support programme and employment to vulnerable or economically disadvantaged adults. In addition we offer a selection of textile craft and clothes re-styling workshops and deliver specialist services namely product design and production to businesses in the textile and fashion industry for commercial sale.

Advocacy support including general, criminal justice and mental health. Mental health support work, youth work and community based activities for members of Gypsy and Traveller community in Leeds and the surrounding areas.

When the student is ready the teacher will appear. We use the services project services and programs to empower the BME community to discover their purpose their pathway and place them around the right network of people who will nurture their talents and gifts in order for them be productive, prosperous in good health, create wealth and leave a legacy.

We support people with experience of the criminal justice system through two projects. The WIRE project supports people aged 18+ with a criminal record to improve their employability skills and gain work experience through placements with our business members. The UP Project supports young people aged 16-25 with a history of or at risk of offending to address their barriers to education, employment and training. This includes support with housing, mental health, relationships and skills and experience for work.

Leicestershire GATE is the only not for profit organisation working with the Traveller and Gypsy communities across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. We support the diverse needs of these, the most marginalised and invisible communities in Britain. We act as the crucial link between community members and essential services such as schools, health providers, Police, local authorities and housing. We are able to ensure that these services are 'Traveller ready' by providing in depth cultural awareness training whilst at the same time ensuring that community members have a detailed understanding of what to expect from these services. In doing so, we remove the multiple barriers that exist for Traveller and Gypsies, we take an equitable approach by recognising that as communities that have been ignored for generations, the idea that they can freely engage with these services is a barrier in itself We are community steered and as such, the work that we undertake is community instructed

We work with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, providing a wide range of services including face-to-face counselling, a helpline, email and pop-in service, also sexual health services including testing and a free condom scheme.

Let's Get Talking is a charity dedicated to communication, conversation and the value of talking. We design and sell our own award winning 23 themed discussion cards sets that we use for our knife crime and drugs awareness programmes. We aim to help young people be able to open up honest and genuine discussions on topics that aren't freely spoken about. We are actively aiming to better understand the attitudes and mindsets of young people today, to enhance their decision-making and help them to make the right choices. www.letsgettalking.org

We provide free independent and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. We provide information and general advice on any topic and also have specialist caseworkers in Welfare Rights, Debt and Employment. As well as offering advice in the bureau we hold an outreach session once a week in HMP Lewes.

This therapeutic community, established in 1971, provides residential rehabilitation from detox through to aftercare, with abstinence, peer support and self-help. Residents successfully complete our treatment intervention and recovery programme into full-time employment and move out into independent living with peers, no longer in treatment. We break the cycle of addiction, offending and dependency on welfare benefits.

The aim of Liberty Choirs is to provide for excluded and isolated people (for example, those in secure psychiatric settings or people who are serving custodial sentences) a ‘through the gate’ programme of high-quality singing and social development. It is designed to help develop skills and self-confidence, open up the world of arts through singing and provide access to new social networks as the participants re-enter the wider community.

We are in touch with more than 70 Liberty Choir graduates, some of whom sing regularly in our choirs, others join us for concerts and special events and others still just let us know they are fine by phone or social media and by turning up at choir as a surprise.
We are now in our sixth year in HMP Wandsworth; we have been in our second prison, HMP High Down since October 2017 and our third prison, HMP Downview, our first women’s prison, since February 2018.

We are looking to expand into two to three more prisons in early 2020.

Mission and Vision At the heart of Liberty Springboard's mission is the understanding that many women and girls encounter significant barriers due to their backgrounds, particularly those with experiences in the youth and criminal justice system.

Life Cycle Bike Back bike recycling project operates in both Bristol and Derby. Unwanted bikes are donated by members of the public and are taken to HMP Bristol & HMP Stocken where they are stripped down, cleaned and rebuilt by prisoners. Prisoners learn employability and mechanical skill. In Stocken they achieve a City & Guilds Level 2, In Bristol a City & Guilds Level 1. When bikes leave the prison workshops they are checked and made ready for sale by volunteers. We have some limited opportunities for people on licence and ex-offenders to volunteer for us. We are planning to increase these opportunities significantly. Refurbished bikes are sold to members of the public at pop-up sales. Both projects have bikes available at low cost through the Wheels to Work scheme.
