Probation PWB Peer Mentor - Lincolnshire
Probation PWB Peer Mentor - Lincolnshire
We are currently recruiting Peer Mentors, with ex-offending lived experience, to assist in supporting Service Users (SU) who are currently on Probation in the community or are due to be released from prison.
Our Peer Mentors enhance the care provided by our Practitioners through a range of supportive and engagement-focused activities, including but not limited to:
- Attending appointments with Service Users (SUs) to provide practical and emotional support
- Offering advocacy and community-based support, particularly for individuals at risk of disengagement
- Providing coaching and mentoring to SUs who may lack motivation, confidence, or self-belief
- Using each SU’s release plan to guide engagement in positive activities and reduce contact with negative peer groups
- Empowering SUs to access activities that support social integration and personal development by identifying their interests and preferences, matching them to suitable opportunities, and, where appropriate, attending activities alongside them (e.g. going to the gym or attending places of worship)
