Do you share Switchback’s ambition that everyone should have the opportunity to live a stable and rewarding life as an active member of a just society, even after release from prison? Switchback is an award-winning charity supporting young Londoners to find their way out of the justice system. We’re looking for up to four new Trustees to join our Board, providing insightful governance to lead Switchback’s pioneering work driving change across the justice system, with the voice of young prison-leavers at the heart.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Switchback’s Board as we support a talented and committed team to deliver on our 3-Year Plan. We’re focusing on building our capacity to support more young men become Switchback Trainees and growing our influencing impact, including tackling social and racial injustice. To succeed, we must diversify our income and work even more collaboratively with statutory, corporate and voluntary sector partners. Can you help us by bringing your relevant experience and passion for a just society to our Board?
We are now seeking new Trustees who can bring experience in any of the following:
- growing a not-for-profit in scale and income;
- strong connections with the private sector to attract funding, as well as creating new training, employment and experience opportunities for Trainees;
- safeguarding expertise; and/or
- influencing for systemic change around racial and social justice.
We’re also determined that our team is more representative of our Trainees, so we’d love to hear from people from Black or Asian backgrounds or with lived experience of the justice system. All appointments are made strictly on merit.
