Home Affairs Select Committee inquiry on domestic abuse
Clinks has responded to the Home Affairs Select Committee inquiry on domestic abuse, outlining the link between women experiencing domestic abuse and having contact with the criminal justice system. In our response we highlight that the government strategy to address domestic abuse should consider and proactively address the needs of women with additional protected characteristics under The Equality Act 2010, as well as the need for the government to develop a strong cross-departmental strategy for the long-term financial sustainability of holistic services provided by women’s centres, with leadership for this located in one department.
