Based Out of St. Peter's in the City, Derby, Inside Out is a mentoring community that works with people pre-release and newly released from prison and those at risk of offending. We offer a mixture of practical, emotional and spiritual support and companionship. Through a 6-12 month one to one mentoring relationship, running an 8 week developmental workshop in partnership with Derby Management School and community gatherings, and by facilitating engagement in meaningful activities, including volunteer work placements, Inside Out aims to empower and equip men and women to unlock their inner potential, develop new skills and understanding, and build lives that are good for them and the community in which they live. The overall project engages with topics such as confidence building, identity, values, emotions, attitudes and behaviours. It works closely with resettlement teams and prison chaplaincy in its referral and risk-assessment process. It is volunteer lead.
