Join ClinksCommunity Counselling Cooperative(CCC) is set up to provide high quality counselling to adults and children in deprived areas of Tyne & Wear. Our aims are to improve the well-being and esteem of our communities, enhance social cohesion and help reduce crime. 'Turnaround Toolkit' is a scheme we initiated in 2012 to provide emotional and psychological assistance to offenders, either as one to one support or within a peer support group. Research as to the efficacy of the project is available by request.

Supporting information
Within 4 months of 'Turnaround Toolkit' starting we had received 44 referrals from offender
managers; 71% of these clients had two or more presenting issues, 21% had 4 or more.
Relationship & family breakdowns, bereavement and self esteem were the main reasons for referral.
Early indications of effacy of the project include a vast reduction in the number of DNA's from the start of the project; the number of clients reporting that they had gained employment; positive feedback from service users and offender managers alike. In the last month a women's peer support group has been set up in the community with a men's group to follow in October.
