Join ClinksSafer Merthyr Tydfil is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. Registered in 1997, although it was established 2-years previous, 1995, under a Home Office Safer Cities Initiative. The organisation has a Wales-wide remit, currently providing services in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taff.
The aim of the organisation is to, in partnership with others, reduce crime, fear of crime and increase community confidence and cohesion.
The organisation does this through delivery of targeted programmes of work. Through these programmes, SMT works with a variety of key partner agencies from all sectors, in particular core statutory such as Local and National Govt, Police, Health etc.
We currently offer a number of programmes, supported by a variery of funders, in relation to key priorites such as domestic abuse, young people and ASB/offending behaviour, home security target hardening etc. Our range of programmes reach service users across the full age spectrum.
