Join ClinksClean Slate creates and supports paid work opportunities for long-term unemployed people facing barriers to employment. Our process includes a 2 day job preparation, training and personal development course, which encourages confidence building and action planning. We have walk-in centres in the West of England and South London where peer advocates (long-term unemployed people) are employed as Work Champions, delivering support, advice and guidance to other jobseekers. Clean Slate also directly employs people through its enterprises: a distribution and packing service (Clean Slate Distribution) and a handyperson business (The HandyHelp Company).

Supporting information
Clean Slate's model is employer-orientated, as we want to employ the jobseekers we meet and so we offer a different relationship to conventional employment support and job search. Job preparation is delivered by peer advocates, again differentiating our offer from conventional support, as it increases accessibility and reduces cynicism and disaffection. This form of delivery enables us to be peripatetic and 'bolt on' to existing services that may not be specialist in employment and employability and it also means the operation is lean and cost-effective - all we need is a room with three PCs (online) to get started.
