Service user involvement during Covid-19
2pm-3:30pm, 17th March 2021 | online | free (members only)
In this event, we’ll be hearing from voluntary sector organisations who have used innovative ways to adapt their service user involvement during Covid-19. As well as their successes, they’ll be talking about the barriers and challenges they’ve faced.
The voluntary sector has a long history of pioneering service user involvement in the criminal justice system, and it is rightfully becoming increasingly common to have experts by experience at the helm of developing and delivering services, influencing change, and challenging systemic inequality. It is vital that this is not hindered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It has now been a year since the pandemic began in the UK, and almost a year since the first lockdown was implemented. During that time, organisations that may have had flourishing service user involvement networks and forums that met face to face or in groups, have had to adapt significantly. This has been challenging, but there have also been examples of great successes in service user involvement during Covid-19, and emerging areas of best practice that can be carried forward beyond the pandemic.
At this event, participants will be able to ask questions to inform their own service user involvement, and get practical tips on how to adapt their work to ongoing restrictions.
This event is part of a series, read about our previous event looking at the importance of diversity in service user involvement here.
