WHAT'S NEXT FOR ARTS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE?
4 December | National Theatre, London | Book here
With only two more weeks to go, we are pleased to share the full programme for the National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance (NCJAA) annual conference and open bookings for breakout sessions.
This year we are asking: ‘what’s next for arts in criminal justice?’ As the national membership body for the sector, this year's NCJAA annual conference is an important opportunity to discuss the future priorities for arts in criminal justice - particularly in light of current developments that support a real step change in the recognition and legitimacy of the work of the NCJAA membership.
The programme includes:
- Keynote speech from John Glen MP, Minister for Arts, Heritage and Tourism
- Opening remarks from Darren Henley OBE, CEO of Arts Council England
- Sir Peter Bazalgette and Nick Hardwick in a Question Time panel
- Exclusive performance of restorative justice theatre, The Listening Room
- Clean Break's Hear, written by Deborah Bruce
With contributions from leading arts and criminal justice organisations and individuals, in breakout sessions on:
- Arts in criminal justice: building the creative economy
- The Lammy Review: the creative case
- Digital Innovation in criminal justice: how arts make an impact
It promises to be a lively event and there will be time to network and exchange ideas during lunch and throughout. Conversations will feed into the NCJAA’s priorities as we begin our journey to become an Arts Council England, National Portfolio Sector Support Organisation from 2018 onwards. Make sure you attend and have your say!
