How can we make sure the voices of young people in youth justice services or at risk of offending are heard?
This meeting of Clinks’ service user involvement managers’ network, in partnership with Beyond Youth Custody, Peer Power and Everton in the Community will explore just that.
Participatory approaches which enable young people to express their views, share decision-making and influence the delivery of services are a vital part of effective youth justice services. However, involving young people with experience of the youth justice system, or at risk of offending, poses specific challenges; and young people at our joint consultation events in 2016 unanimously told us they did not feel their voices were heard or listened to.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Share your experiences, ideas, challenges and successes in involving young people in the services you work with
- Hear from young people and organisations leading the way in best practice.
- Discuss the latest changes to the youth justice system and policy making
Lunch is included at the beginning of the meeting.
