Are you questioning if you should use your own personal experience to draw attention to your work or a cause you care about? Do you feel nervous that sharing will not make a difference, or your story will be distorted?
This interactive Stronger Voice training session will help you navigate your options, get some practice and leave feeling more confident. Attendees will gain:
-
Insight into telling effective stories
-
Ways to fit your story into the bigger picture of change and remind people that you are only one of many with your experiences
-
Time to practice and discuss how others approach the topic.
The insight of the people who have direct experience of the criminal justice service matters. Your insights have the power to create change, if told in the right way. You should come away with practical tips to help you do just that. The session is for a mixed level group, the key is that you are coming if you are looking to start telling your story or hone the way you do it.
About the trainer
The training will be delivered by Liz Kearsley, a communications specialist who works with organisations to improve language, messaging and brand. Liz has been training organisations in the crime and justice sector since 2018 and previously held the position of head of communications at several different charities.
Who can attend?
This event is open to anybody with lived experience of the criminal justice system and working or volunteering for a voluntary organisation in the criminal justice system.
It is aimed at a mixed level group, and it will be most useful for anyone working in a policy, campaigns or communications role, or anyone else interested in telling their story to influence policy or to campaign on issues that matter to their organisation or service users.
About Stronger voice
