We’re holding an interactive workshop with Children Heard and Seen looking at the experiences of children with a parent in prison.
Estimates suggest 312,000 children experience parental imprisonment each year in England and Wales. We’ll explore the response of statutory services to these children and what the voluntary sector offers to support them.
Children with a parent in prison can live with stigma, shame and social isolation. What support is available? Does your organisation consider the impact of imprisoned parents on their children or how you could mitigate it?
If you feel that you don’t know enough about the experiences of children and would like to be better informed, this workshop is for you. Take the opportunity to learn from experts, ask questions and share your experiences.
