When we decided our theme for this year’s annual conference, we didn’t know how prescient it would be. It now feels more important than ever to come together, share good practice and talk about navigating our way through the storm.
Turbulent waters
Voluntary organisations working in the criminal justice system are riding a wave of uncertainty and it's perilous for the people they support.
When it's hard to maintain your focus, stay true to your purpose, and avoid being cast adrift, how do you not only weather the storm but make the biggest difference for your beneficiaries?
Are you on board?
We're here to support you during this difficult time. At this conference, we'll look to the horizon together and plot the best course.
We’ve planned our virtual conference in two parts, the first at the end of June and the second at the end of September:
- Part one will be dedicated to managing your organisation during the Covid-19 crisis, and supporting your staff and service users
- Part two will be focused on regrouping and recovery.
During the first part of the conference, keynote speaker Karl Wilding, CEO of NCVO, will share his thoughts on the difference that voluntary organisations can make to people’s lives and communities in the context of Covid-19.
Pat McArdle, CEO of MayDay Trust will be our inspirational speaker.
There will also be a live panel discussion with leaders from the voluntary sector: Dez Brown, Spark2Life; Dawn Simpson, NEPACS; and Tim Robertson, Anne Frank Trust.
We're aiming to make our virtual conference as interactive as possible, including discussions, panels and presentations.
Take time away from the day-to-day, to hear about and learn from others' experiences, and make new connections. It will make all the difference.

This year's annual conference is sponsored by Scrutton Bland, voluntary sector insurance specialists.
