Clinks consultation event- tackling homelessness together
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government have launched a consultation- Tackling homelessness together: a consultation on structures that support partnership working and accountability in homelessness.
If you are a voluntary organisation that has expertise in housing and homelessness for people in contact with the criminal justice please come along to inform Clinks response.
About the consultation
The consultation focuses specifically on how non-statutory and statutory structures might play a stronger role in facilitating local partnership working, enabling delivery partners to work together both strategically and operationally to reduce homelessness and rough sleeping, and holding them to account for their actions.
It has three areas of focus –
- The effectiveness of existing accountability arrangements relating to homelessness
- The creation of Homelessness Reduction Boards
- Other ways of supporting effective partnership working
The consultation specifically asks if Homelessness Reduction Boards should be created in local areas, and if they are what they should look like.
Clinks will be responding to the consultation and will focus on the role of voluntary organisations and the need for join up with the criminal justice system.
