Alpha House Calderdale

Alpha House is a specialist, holistic, rehabilitative service for male offenders with multiple and complex problems based in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Our aim is to see beneficiaries overcome diagnosed mental health issues; repeat offending behaviour; substance misuse and a range of domestic problems and become empowered to cease all offending behaviour and live independently as healthy, fulfilled, contributing members of the community. We provide a strongly professional service, highly rated by the police prolific offender team, probation, the prison service and other professionals. Vitally, all our staff have overcome the same kinds of challenges faced by our beneficiaries, so we have profound empathy and understanding, and can act as ‘living proof’ role models, as well as holding a range of professional and academic qualifications.
We work with a total of around 120 beneficiaries per year including some early-release prisoners at an hour’s notice.
