The Maslow Foundation delivers projects supporting individuals and families experiencing complex challenges, including those affected by the criminal justice system and domestic abuse.
Through our Family Connections Project, delivered in partnership with Sussex Prisoners’ Families, we support women at risk of imprisonment and their families across Sussex and Surrey. Using the Child Impact Assessment Toolkit, we capture children's feelings, wishes and concerns, identify potential care and family support needs should a mother go to prison, and provide information to pre-sentence report authors to help courts understand the potential impact of imprisonment on the family.
In Surrey, our Hope for Change Project, delivered in collaboration with Surrey County Council, provides temporary housing for people causing harm through domestic abuse. This enables partners and families to remain safely in their own homes and maintain connections with their existing support networks and specialist community services. The project combines safeguarding, intensive housing management and multi-agency working to support a whole-family approach to domestic abuse.
