I've just received an email from NOMS outlining some criminal justice funding with very tight deadlines.

INDEPENDENT ADVOCACY FOR WOMEN IN PRISON
1. 4653-2- Grant Funding to Pilot a Project providing independent advocacy to women in prisons who are restricted Status and women with the most complex needs.
NOMS are inviting expressions of interest for a Grant Award to support an organisation that will test the impact of Independent Advocacy on the engagement and progression of a small cohort of Restricted Status (RS) women and women with the most complex needs who find it difficult to engage and progress through their sentence plans.

REDUCE DISPROPORTIONATE USE OF FORCE FOR BLACK/MUSLIM PRISONERS
2. 4660-2- Grant Funding to improve disproportionality in use of force incidents for black and/or Muslim prisoners in custody through self-development
The aim of this grant is to test a self-development intervention to identify the reasons why Black and Muslim prisoners are involved disproportionately in incidents which result in use of force and how this can be reduced.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN STAFF AND SERVICE USERS AT APPROVED PREMISES
5. Grant Funding to Pilot a new approach that will improve outcomes for the service user’s by helping to foster inclusive residential environments within the National Probations Service’s (NPS) Approved Premises (AP)
NOMS are inviting expressions of interest for a Grant Award to support an organisation with work that is aimed at encouraging and to foster interpersonal relationships between staff and service users. Developing an understanding of the needs of the service users can in turn influence a more meaningful relationship. This can effect a safe, secure and inclusive environment with the potential to reduce the risk of violence, exclusion and enhance overall public protection.
