These workshops will provide an overview of the new Industry Standard Partnering Agreement (ISPA) – the contract that Tier 1’s (Primes) will be required to use when subcontracting with their partners. We will consider the implications of the contract, including risk and insurance, governance structures, TUPE and Pensions, HR implications, data protection etc, followed by a Q and A. These workshops will be based on legal analysis carried out by Russell-Cooke Solicitors and will be delivered by our regional legal partners around the country. The workshops are free, but please book a place here
Evaluation and innovation in arts & criminal justice settings – demonstrating impact in a new commissioning landscape
21st February, Leicester
This free ESRC seminar will focus on best practice in evaluating and evidencing creative interventions with offenders. The event will include contributions from both the Ministry of Justice and the National Offender Management Service. We are also delighted to announce that Clean Break’s recent graduates will be performing: ‘Stepping Off the Edge of the World’ – a production exploring the lives of 3 female offenders with very different stories. This event aims to enable delegates to consider how to evaluate activities with untraditional output and outcome models. For more information and bookings, visit Arts Alliance
Write to be Heard – sharing good practice
6th March, London & 12th March, Manchester, 10am - 4pm
The Arts Alliance is hosting these free events to take forward the learning points of the Write to be Heard project and to explore how arts organisations can work with prisons and education providers to improve offenders’ literacy and life skills. The aim of the events is to build the case for high quality arts interventions in prisons by using Write to be Heard as a model. Write to be Heard, an arts and education project run by the Arts Alliance, has worked with Geese Theatre Company, Prison Radio Association and creative writers to deliver 28 creative writing workshops in prisons across the country. The workshops successfully targeted prisoners who were not confident writers, including those with little or no literacy. Participants at the events will have the opportunity to take part in taster sessions on creative writing and recording, as well as hearing from Manchester College and National Prison Radio. There are only a few places left at each of these, so book today! For more information and bookings, please click here
