Tammi Owen holds the Wales seat on the RR3 and is the Chief Executive of CUBE. She has been working with the community of Barry, and spent the last 6 years creating a safe and non-institutional community led service based at the Gallery in Barry.
In 2020, CUBE achieved National Lottery Community funding to deliver co-produced, community-led support for children from 6 to adult upwards, including 1 to 1 support, group support, parenting groups, and whole family support for anyone facing challenges.
With this funding, Tammi and her team purchased and refurbished the building called the Gallery, developing three social enterprise businesses, the Gallery Coffee Shop, Gallery Weddings, and Gallery Events. These businesses aim to generate income that will allow CUBE to be self-sustaining, particularly as the community recovers from the cost-of-living crisis.
The Gallery aims to support other social enterprises and voluntary sector organisations by offering a safe space to develop new ideas, to connect with the community, and to share and delivery support. CUBE collaborates with various partners to co-produce and deliver support, such as CRUSE, Newydd Housing Association, the Department of Work and Pensions, the Ministry of Justice, and local prisons.
