Jess holds the youth justice seat on the RR3 and has twenty years’ experience working in the voluntary sector to challenge systemic injustice, by supporting and empowering people who are marginalised or discriminated against to make their voices heard and to advocate for their needs. She is chief executive at the Alliance for Youth Justice which brings together 80 organisations, advocating for and with children and young people to drive positive change in youth justice in England and Wales.
She was previously Chief Executive at Collective Voice, the national alliance of drug and alcohol treatment and recovery charities, and Director of Influence and Communications at Clinks. In all of these roles she has led work to promote the role of the voluntary sector and to influence policies and practice which tackle racism and discrimination.
