You will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller with the day to day management of all financial and management accounting activities. You will assist in preparing, developing and analysing all types of accounting information, and in providing a high-quality and effective support service to all parts of the organisation. You will deputise for the Financial Controller in her absence (one day a week plus holiday cover) and directly supervise the accounts receivable/payable and payroll functions.
This post supervises two staff – responsible for Payroll and accounts receivable and payable.
The post holder has the following responsibilities:
To assist in producing monthly, quarterly and yearly management reports to the charity’s Senior Management, external auditors and other statutory and regulatory bodies e.g. Charities Commission, Companies House, ONS etc.
To assist in preparing financial and management accounts, cash flow statements, budgets and forecasts.
To prepare reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts, such as wages and pensions control accounts.
To carry out monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
To assist in improving and developing the systems surrounding all aspects of the charity’s business planning and financial responsibilities.
To assist in supporting operational managers to develop a robust and effective budgetary control process.
To assist in providing detailed financial inputs and support to the business development and proposal activities, ensuring that a robust financial reporting system exists to support the funders.
To assist in ensuring that effective financial reporting systems exist and are developed to support both headquarters and regional operations.
To assist in providing full financial and regulatory support to any other areas of trading by the charity or its associated businesses.
To manage the delivery of payroll and accounts payable and receivable processes to support the Financial Controller in producing timely and accurate financial reports as required.
AAT qualified/finance graduate OR studying early stages of CIMA.
