Build Love CIC is a newly established organisation currently working in partnership with HMP Guys Marsh in North Dorset.
We run a decorating and maintenance company which undertakes contract works outside of the prison, as well as a practical workshop inside the prison to 'make, fix and grow' for our local community groups, councils and charities.
We are passionate about inclusion, personal development through practical tasks and forming community connections to maximise doing good for people and planet.
About the Role
A Management Committee Member is considered by us an essential part of our governance and business strategy, quarterly committee meetings will hold the company and Project Manager accountable to ensure delivery of services in-line with our core purpose, and members will be crucial to progressing the company's social, environmental and commercial aims and objectives, as well as this includes other ideas within recruitment, construction and plastic-free manufacturing.
As a committee member you will play a key part of the team, ideally bringing a mixture of experience, ideas and energy to further our work.
Committee members would ideally have an area of interest or expertise, for example; finance, culture, construction management, trade skills, operations, HR, learning and development, VCSE sector etc etc
- Available to commit time to quarterly meetings, and to initiate and follow-up actions
- Positive and willing to explore new concepts / different approaches
- Interest / expertise in people and business
- Must be 'online' have access to computer in order to access online documents and communications (which can be demonstrated if you require)
We are still excitedly working out growth beyond our core business model, and although this role is voluntary we hope there will be opportunities for those committee members who wish to be remunerated for an increased involvement to take on a paid role in the future.
