We are a charity that helps people to help themselves, and we have been doing so for more than thirty years. There are thousands of people in our communities who struggle with life and face, what seem to be, insurmountable barriers - people like this are why we exist. We provide a wide variety of custodial and community-based support for people, and we are often described as the ‘glue’ between those at risk of social isolation and the wider mainstream society. An important aspect of our work is to support Armed Forces Veterans who have become involved in the Criminal Justice System.
Through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust and the support of John Campion, the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, we aim to ensure the veterans we support have access to high quality, responsive, practical and emotional support
We are looking for two Remember Veterans Link Workers to be responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, support and retention of YSS Remember Veterans Champions identified by local organisations and agencies.
In addition, they will manage a case load of ex-armed forces personnel involved (or previously involved) in the Criminal Justice System. This may also include working with individuals at point of arrest, before they are released from prison and from within in the community. It is anticipated that the RV Link Worker will have an ongoing active caseload of up to 6 individuals and possibly their family members at any one time for a period of up to 3 months.
