About the job
The Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) provides high quality support, safety planning and advocacy as part of a multi-agency response to victims of sexual violence, providing protection through legal measures and enabling vulnerable individuals to live safely and free from abuse.
The ISVA post is based within the Newcastle Integrated Domestic Abuse Service (NIDAS). The successful candidate will play an important role in providing specialist tailored support to victims and survivors of sexual violence. The ISVA works with people who have experienced rape and sexual assault, irrespective of whether they have reported to the police. The nature of the support that an ISVA provides will vary from case to case and will depend on the needs of the individual and their particular circumstances. This post will focus on the provision of support to victims of sexual violence, which is domestic abuse related.
