We are seeking a self-motivating, energetic project leader with experience in the vulnerable persons/criminal justice sector as a successor to our current Project Manager. WCCT is a small charity which has been working in partnership with the chaplaincy team at HMP Wandsworth since 2013. Recruiting people from faith and local communities in central and south west London, we have developed a team of volunteer befrienders with the skills and networks to build relationships with a complex and challenging group of men both in the prison and after release, supporting them to resettle in the community. Many of these men are now living crime-free lives.
The Project Manager role is crucial for shaping the continued development of the Trust, as well as ensuring the operational effectiveness of existing practice.
Duties will include:
- ensuring that sufficient volunteers are recruited, trained and supported.
- identifying prisoners who can gain from our support and engaging them as clients.
- assessing client needs and the risks involved in supporting them.
- matching clients to appropriate volunteer befrienders and tracking the progress of the relationship.
In addition, the Project Manager will build and maintain relationships with faith and other communities around London, maintain records, review the effectiveness of current practice and highlight possible innovations.
Those who have lived experience of being in prison are welcome to apply.
