Communications Manager [parental leave cover]

Terms: Full time, Fixed-term approx. 4 months. Employment commencing from 29th January until 11th May 2018

We are looking for a highly motivated person to provide communications cover over for a fixed term. The post involves managing Clinks’ communications both externally and internally during a period from 29th January to 11th May. The post will deliver communications actions across the spectrum of communications disciplines including: digital communications, media and public relations, publications, marketing, social media and production of materials to ensure that Clinks’ communications are professional, clear, effective, and meet the needs of our members and other stakeholders.

Experience of supervising, delegating and monitoring the work of others to achieve targets
Working in a communications role
Leading the production of a range of electronic and printed publications (bulletins, leaflets, websites, and reports)
Using technology for organisational communications
Managing relationships with outside suppliers, such as designers, developers and printers

Interpersonal and strong spoken and written communication skills which engage audiences, encouraging understanding and participation
A collaborative approach to working with colleagues
Highly organised with an ability to maintain effective record keeping systems
Adopt a problem solving, solution-focused approach and make decisions effectively and timely
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strategic thinking, planning and Project management skills
IT skills at a level that supports report writing, email, internet and database.
Adaptability and flexibility in being able to take on new roles and manage a range of different internal and external relationships.

Regulatory requirements and best practice policy and guidance relating to:
How Communications, promotion and the press works in the voluntary sector
The Criminal Justice System and policy (desirable)

Works well in a team with a flexible approach to work
Personal resilience and the ability to stay focused in a rapidly changing environment.
Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities. An ability to apply awareness of diversity issues to all areas of work.
Commitment to the values and ethos of supporting people in the criminal justice system
Commitment to upholding the rights of people facing disadvantage and discrimination in the criminal justice system

No one specific qualification is required, but evidence of recent continuing professional development in a professional area with demonstrable relevance to the services managed
