Understanding the health & care landscape for offenders & their families
Tuesday 3rd December 2013
NCVO, 8 All Saints Street, London N1 9RL
The conference will help you:
- understand health & care structures
- understand how they impact on the health & care needs of offenders and their families
- identify how to influence and challenge
- identify how to use new structures to support service users accessing health and care
Offenders are one of the least healthy and most socially excluded groups in society. Many will also have a range of multiple or complex needs. Addressing the health inequalities they face can have a significant impact on reducing both their re-offending and social exclusion. Offenders’ families also suffer from considerable disadvantage, social exclusion and health inequalities.
Speakers from NHS England, Public Health England, and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector will help identify how to influence commissioning and provision, as well as access services.
The event is aimed at Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector organisations working with offenders and their families; service users; and family members.
This conference is part of Clinks, Nacro, and Action for Prisoners’ Families' (APF) Health and Care Voluntary Sector Strategic Partners Programme. It is a free event but a charge of £30 will be made against anyone who books a place but doesn’t attend. Cancellations must be made by Thursday 28th November.
