CJS Partnership Champions Events
With funding from the Ministry of Justice, Clinks and NAVCA are working together to enable Champions of local partnership working in the Criminal Justice System (CJS) to share their experience with another area. Each Champion will attend an event hosted by a local support and development organisation (LSDO), with participants invited from the host’s local VCS and statutory CJS agencies. The event will be an opportunity to learn from the Champion’s approach to enabling local VCS engagement in the CJS, and to explore the potential to develop this and other approaches in the host LSDO area.
Clinks and NAVCA are each supporting events in different regions, with Clinks assisting LSDOs in the South West, Greater London and West Midlands. We are currently inviting LSDOs in the South West and Greater London regions to submit expressions of interest in hosting a CJS Partnership Champion Event between January and March 2012.
Grant funding is available to the host LSDO to plan, host and facilitate the event, to carry out an evaluation (click here for template evaluation forms) and to complete a case study (click here for a case study template) for inclusion in the final report. The Champion also receives funding to prepare for and attend the event, and to contribute to the evaluation and report.
The Champions will be identified by Clinks and NAVCA for their experience of brokering or supporting local partnership working in the CJS or leading on local CJS partnership initiatives. The Champion for each event will deliver a presentation about how their approach has worked, take questions from participants and lead a discussion about how a similar approach could be developed in the host area.
