The women's sector
Clinks aims to support the specific needs of those organisations and individuals working with women offenders.
In order to ensure we were aware of these needs, Clinks ran a round-table event in 2009 in partnership with the Women’s Resource Centre (WRC) and Women in Prison. As a result of this event, and the issues it raised we have:
- run training on how to work with the media
- run training on why 'women only services are important for women offenders
- written guidance for general women's service on how to work with foreign national offenders and ex-offenders. This will be available shortly.
We are exploring with the WomenCentre's Forum how we can combine our skills and resources to maximise benefit to the Centres, and we continue to explore how we can provide support to the women’s sector working in criminal justice.
If you would like to discuss our work in this area, please contact Kate Aldous, or for organisations in the South West, contact Louise Clark
