Tackling the barriers to sustainability
Sustainable Funding Road Shows
Clinks and Locality are offering Clinks member organisations (or organisations that want to become Clinks members) the opportunity to visit successful enterprises. Learn to earn visits are designed to help you learn first hand from criminal justice organisations with a track record in earning income. Visits enable you to hear first-hand the stories of those who have successfully earned income, to have a guided tour of the enterprise and get a ‘feel for the organisation and how it developed, ask the questions you need to ask, and meet like-minded people and discuss routes to financial self-sufficiency. Download the booking form on the right for the visit to The Clink Restaurant and Fine Cell Work, on 5th March at HMP High Down, Surrey or contact Helen Coombe for more information.
Stay up to date by subscribing to our weekly ebulletin, Light Lunch.
This is the last opportunity to access free short-term consultancy and specialist support for Clinks member organisations. Support is now targeted at small-medium sized not-for-profit organisations based in the North East, Yorkshire and Humberside, East of England and Wales, for areas such as developing business and fundraising strategies, diversifying income streams, demonstrating impact - or wherever you need it most to increase your sustainability. Download the guidelines and application form on the right if you'd like to benefit from the project.
Tackling the barriers to sustainability
Clinks is monitoring the impact of the economic downturn and of changes to criminal justice policy and funding. This will feed into lobbying, awareness-raising and special initiatives to support the sector. If you would like to contribute feedback or share your experiences of current barriers to sustainability, please email Helen Coombe.
Sustainable Funding Road Shows
Clinks ran five regional Sustainable Funding Road Shows in 2011 which brought the criminal justice sector together to explore the current funding and policy environment and identify income-generation strategies. Over 300 delegates from 250 organisations attended a selection of workshops around income-generation in the criminal justice sector and took advantage of opportunities for partnership networking and one-to-one surgeries with specialist advisors. Contact Helen Coombe if you would like to request copies of workshops and presentations.
