South West Development Project
Clinks’ South West Development Project aims to support the provision by the Voluntary and Community Sector of effective rehabilitation services for offenders and their families in the South West region through:
- a regional communication network to support and promote the Voluntary and Community Sector and disseminate information about national and regional initiatives;
- increasing collaboration and partnership at regional, sub-regional and local levels between statutory partners and VCS organisations;
- improving VCS access to regional and local policy and operational networks and resources – especially for small to medium sized organisations;
- developing the capacity of small to medium sized VCS organisations to deliver services to offenders, and their families, either on their own or in partnership with other agencies;
- raising awareness of gaps in services to offenders and their families and identifying solutions;
- developing and promoting key strategic objectives and services in relation to Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) offenders and women offenders;
- promoting and disseminating new initiatives, good practice, and learning about ‘what works’.
Clinks has been working to support the development of the Voluntary and Community Sector in the South West Criminal Justice System since 2005, and at the end of 2008 we were awarded a further three years charitable funding by the Tudor LankellyChase Partnership to build on these achievements and extend our services.
