Big Judges project
In April 2009 Clinks committed to an ESF funded project that sought to explore the potential role for judges and magistrates in the decisions affecting the release of prisoners, and the overall management of offenders to support their transition to supervision in the community. There are three other partners in the project; from Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
It was decided that Clinks, as the national organisation supporting the VCS working with offenders and their families, would contribute to a strand of the Big Judges project - focusing on the role of sentencers in managing offenders appearing before the courts who are likely to receive a non-custodial sentence.
