NOMS VCS Engagement Project
This project has been established to assist the development of effective relationships
between the voluntary and community sector specifically in relationship to NOMS.
Formerly known as the Strategic Development Project, the new programme is
concerned with a range of issues including:
-
improving the funding mechanisms for voluntary sector organisations working with offenders
-
ensuring that diversity of provision is enhanced especially in respect of the role
of small local organisations
-
developing strategies for all sections of the voluntary sector to work together to
deliver holistic and effective services for offenders
-
generally promoting the unique contribution that the voluntary sector brings to work
with offenders including a focus on service user perspectives and strong community
ties
