There are now a number of online databases designed to help organisations identify appropriate funding for their geographical area and area of work. This excellent digest from South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau lists the main databases available, their advantages, disadvantages and their costs

Advice on Applying to a Charitable Foundation is a brief but readable guide featuring some useful links from the Association of Charitable Foundations
The Directory of Social Change publish a range of guides to fundraising techniques. The Complete Fundraising Handbook by Nina Botting and Michael Norton is a good place to start
Guides to grantmaking trusts available from the DSC. If you don’t want to or cannot purchase these you may find they’re available at the library or at your local infrastructure organisation
